Skin cancer screening
Take advantage of the skin cancer prevention opportunity and schedule an appointment for skin cancer screening.
Treatment process
From head to toe, we examine your skin and initially document the entire body photographically.
All noticeable skin changes are then marked on the overview images and subsequently documented with a 15-fold magnification. In our practice at Kurfürstendamm, we use the computer-assisted photodocumentation system (Vectra by Visiomedâ) for skin cancer prevention. With its help, we can make even the smallest changes in the skin visible and assess them.
For unclear pigmented changes, we need additional information, which we obtain through examination using the Nevisenseâ (immediate analysis for early melanoma detection). This device enables quick and painless detection of melanomas (malignant skin changes, also known as black skin cancer).
Benign and malignant skin changes, skin cancer and its precursors can thus be assessed and treated as quickly as possible on an outpatient basis, and/or with the help of light and laser therapy. Skin cancer is a very insidious disease as it does not manifest itself through pain. The main causes are genetic predispositions and the UV light from the sun.

Notes
Early detection and preventive measures:
In Germany, around 200,000 people are newly diagnosed with skin cancer each year: about 24,000 people with melanoma (malignant melanoma) and about 171,000 people with non-melanoma skin cancer.
Don't be one of them!
Participate in skin cancer prevention and screenings at regular intervals and protect yourself from a treacherous cancer that causes no pain in its early stages. Early detection should occur every 1-2 years so that skin changes can be recognized and treated in a timely manner. One of the most important preventive measures is to avoid sunburns through consistent skin protection (shade, textile sun protection, hats/caps, sunscreen). If existing spots change and/or new ones appear, please schedule an appointment for a check-up as soon as possible.
